Environmental Farmers Group (EFG) was happy to join a key network of organisations working in the Natural Capital sector at the House of Lords on Monday 27th March 2023 for the launch of Green Finance Institute’s (GFI) ‘Financing a Farming Transition’ report. This report brings together the leading stakeholders in the industry to look at how the market will evolve and what infrastructure is required to support this into the future.
EFG was heavily involved in supporting the GFI and others in building the report. Indeed, the work underlines the importance of farmer ‘aggregation models’ as a way to deliver the best environmental returns for the sector and puts EFG as a central cornerstone to this.
The report has fed into the UK Government’s Green Finance Strategy which will be released later this week and will pave the way to a fully functioning green finance sector. As recently announced, the government will take this report to the next level by work with the British Standards Institute to set the UK’s future Nature Investment standards.
